Calling all Participants:

Creating Compelling Services and Content

Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing the write-ups of the various parts of the PSM Blueprint for the future.

We would appreciate it if you would take the time to follow http://docs.google.com/Edit?docid=dfx973mr_0f2cjqkfj and review the write-up and comment or amend where you think that there an error or omission in terms of faithfully representing what was said on the day - or where you can suggest a useful reference.

Thanks for your help.

What is Public Service Media (PSM)?

Media which fulfils the same public purposes as public service broadcasting but which uses digital media and platforms including the Internet instead of broadcast television or radio. It is particularly relevant to youth audiences.

About the Organisers

The UK National Commission for UNESCO is an independent body, which acts as the focal point in the UK for UNESCO-related policies and activities. Working in partnership with HM Government and UK civil society, the UK National Commission aims to provide expert advice to the Government on UNESCO related matters, develop UK input into UNESCO policy-making, promote reforms within UNESCO, and encourage support in the UK for UNESCO's ideals and work. UNESCO is the member of the UN family of organisations with 'education, science and culture' within its name and media, communications and content within its remit.

NESTA is the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts - a unique body with a mission to make the UK more innovative. They invest in early-stage companies, inform and shape policy, and deliver practical programmes that inspire others to solve the big challenges of the future. They aim to shape innovation policies that will help the UK meet national innovation challenges of the 21st century.

Golant Films fosters and establishes new convergent media enterprises. Bringing together knowledge of business, policy, media and technology it connects ideas, people and money together. Ultimately, the company exists to create compelling and authentic stories that enable us to learn more about ourselves, other people and the world (and have fun along the way).

The Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI) operates from within the National Archives and is at the heart of information policy, setting standards, delivering access and encouraging the re-use of public sector information. OPSI provides a wide range of services to the public, information industry, government and the wider public sector relating to finding, using, sharing and trading information.

FreshMinds Research is an independent research consultancy. The firm combines robust research with strategic consultancy skills to provide evidence-based analysis and recommendations. FreshMinds' client base covers both the private and public sector, from high profile multinationals to government departments. The company is a member of the Market Research Society and is the only firm to have won its Best Agency Award two years in a row.

Pact is the UK trade association that represents and promotes the commercial interests of independent feature film, television, children's and animation media companies.
